1. Start with a clean, oil-free base
Oil, makeup, moisturizer, and leftover adhesive can weaken the bond. Gently clean the hairline, let it dry completely, and keep heavy skin-care products away from the application area.
2. Choose the hold for the day ahead
Use a flexible, water-resistant option for everyday wear and active days. Choose maximum-strength hold when the install needs extra security through heat, long hours, travel, or special events. Jambo Active and Jambo Extreme give stylists two clear levels of hold.
3. Apply thin, even layers
More adhesive does not automatically mean better hold. Apply a thin layer along the intended hairline and spread it evenly. Add another thin layer only when the previous layer reaches the proper tacky stage. Thick, wet application can create residue and an uneven finish.
4. Let the bond turn tacky
Do not place the lace into wet adhesive. Wait until the bond is tacky and follow the product directions. This step helps the lace grip cleanly instead of sliding or lifting at the edges.
5. Place, press, and melt
Position the lace carefully, then press it into the bond from the center outward. Use a melt band for the recommended setting time. Avoid repeatedly lifting and repositioning the lace because that can weaken the bond.
6. Protect the install after application
Keep the hairline dry while the bond cures. Wrap the lace before bed, avoid oily products near the edges, and pat sweat instead of rubbing. If a small edge lifts, clean and repair that area rather than stacking fresh adhesive over residue.
